About the book
In this award-winning book, Dr. Tiffany Jana and Dr. Michael Baran tackle one of the biggest threats to workplace inclusion – subtle acts of exclusion (also known as microaggressions). In the book, Jana and Baran not only build awareness for what these subtle acts of exclusion are and why they are so harmful, but they also provide guidelines for individuals and organizations to address this insidious problem to create a culture of true inclusion.
Keynotes
Dr. Michael Baran will deliver inspiration, understading, and committment to action through an engaging keynote. He combines storytelling, research, and an examination of real situations from a diverse group of people. Keynotes can be conducted for any size, virtual or in-person. Sessions can be delivered in formats of 60, 90, or 120 minutes.
Leadership Training
Leaders at all levels play an essential role in creating a culture of inclusion – on teams, in departments, and in organizations. As part of that role, they especially must understand SAE and have the skills to address SAE when they happen. In these sessions, we skill practice leaders' ability to foster a feedback culture around this important topic and an inclusive culture more broadly.
Small Groups
Small group workshops can be incredibly impactful for learning about SAE, sharing experiences, building community, and practicing responses to real or realistic SAE scenarios. We consider the perspective of people impacted by an SAE, the person who initiated it, or the people who are potential allies.
Self-Paced Learning
Individuals can learn about SAE or can reinforce their learning through an interactive self-paced program that builds understanding and asks users how they would respond to common SAE scenarios. The eLearning be completed on our LMS or delivered as SCORM files to your internal LMS.
